Alex Vargas is 27 years old and is from Bellport, New York.
He is a professional boxer with a 12-0 mark with 4 notes. And he is the first
boxer to work for the police department when he was hired in January 2022.
Alex Vargas spoke about his work. "I work at the 2nd
Precinct patrolling the Huntington area. I have an Associate's degree from
Suffolk County Community College in 2015 and a BA in Teaching English as a
Second Language from SUNY Cortland in 2017 and a BA in Foreign Languages from
Colombia, South America South in 2017. I come from a close family that has a
3" house.
The boxer told about his family. "My father, who is retired, my mother, who works for the department of social services, and my sister, who is 25, who is an English as a Second Language teacher in the Hampton Bay School District," said Alex Vargas.
Alex Vargas started boxing at the age of 6 and turned
professional in 2018 at the age of 23. "I have sparred and sparred with
many of the best boxers in the world including Chris Algieri, Chris Colbert,
Saddam Ali, Richard Commey , Paulie malignaggi", related Alex Vargas.
Likewise, Alex Vargas recounted the obstacles he had to go
through to be where he is. "I have fought on TV channels like Telemundo
and SNY, FITETV and IFLTV. I grew up playing boxing, soccer, wrestling,
lacrosse, baseball. My parents told me that I could be a professional boxer
once I got my college degree, which was the first to do in my family,"
says Alex Vargas.
